Mr Ernesto was born 70 years ago and since then he has been living in Marvila. He is seen by the community as a good man, a hard worker and someone who gets on with everybody.
A hard life filled with struggles. There was very little free time and what there was of it was dedicated to the family. When he retired he was feeling a little lost, having been busy for so long, and now coming to a screeching halt. What now? There was nothing to do.
So, he started dedicating time to his hobby. He loved to work with different kinds of wood, toothpicks and glue. His artwork was a cross between replicas of well known buildings and his own creation.

Mr. Ernesto had never visited a library before. He never felt the need, until his retirement.
In 2017, when the Library first opened he was there, and as his visits became more and more frequent he built a relationship of trust with the staff. He made an exhibition at the Library called “Arquitetura de Imaginários” (Architecture of the Imaginary), between 8 and 30 September 2018.

Some details of the exhibition ” Architecture of the Imaginary ”
Such is his esteem for the staff that he made the facade of the Library and gave it to them as a gift for the second anniversary. We are empowering creativity.

He built such a strong relationship with the Library that he became a volunteer offering his skills to do small repair wood works around the Library.
